An AIS MOB (Man Over Board) is a Personal Locator Beacon, with a range of features designed to accelerate detection and support localised rescue for vessel crew in an MOB situation, where the distress signal is transmitted through AIS, to be alerted on AIS Electronics instruments on nearby vessels.
